If I Had the Time

Life is hectic. Get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, get to work (but don’t drive too fast or you’ll get a ticket and that’s too much time down the drain), work your brain, exercise your fingers on the keyboard, take a break, eat something, back to work, leave, make supper, spend time with family, get ready for bed, sleep, repeat.

Play is something I did when I was a kid, but don’t have much time for these days. Life is great, but life is busy. I’m already realizing that before I even have a chance to catch my breath, my hair will probably be turning shades of grey, and I’ll be using a cane

But even though I’m so busy, I spare time to dream every once in a while. What would I do if I had the time? Would I chill? Would I know how to chill, or would I spend the day scouring the counters and scrubbing the floors, trying to finally get my home so spick and span that the floors shine and the silver sparkles?

Or would I actually take the time to breathe, and relax? I don’t know, but here are a few things I might do when I have time. (You contact me in a couple of decades and I’ll let you know if I ever did them…)

Get a Massage. No, I never did it, but if I had the time… Maybe I would.

Do some exercise. Yes, I know I really should, but no; I don’t have time!

Read the latest novels. I love to read, and it’s actually helpful for me as a writer, since it broadens my vocabulary. But since I only get paid to write, and not to read, my writing lexicon will have to stay as is.

Now, just so you know, life is great! I have time for what’s most important to me, and that’s what counts.
